While goofing off in Sims 3 I’ve been working on updating this blog. I’d originally planned to do it all prior to starting the Third Turning. At that time, I had no idea how much work it was going to be! It’s tedious and boring to say the least and I’ve questioned more than once why on earth I’m doing it. But, for whatever reason, I want to do it.
The Household Profiles page is finished. Meaning that all of the households are now listed with clickable pics that lead to their individual household pages with clickable pics for everyone in that household that lead to their individual profiles. I haven’t gotten as far as adding the household’s backstories for more than a few.
I’m currently in the process of “cleaning up” all of the individual profiles. Meaning I’m adding the correct birth date, the newest profile picture, noting any group memberships, and removing things that I’ve decided not to bother with anymore like zodiac or their high chemistry scores. Zodiac because the modder isn’t going to update the traits anymore so I’ve removed them and chemistry because I think it would be a more fun surprise for readers and I also don’t want to lock into one pairing if something different comes along which it actually has with the recent additions for a few of my kids.
Once I’m done with the cleaning up process (I’m currently on G, ugh) I plan to go through all of them again and add links to the household profiles and any family member’s and good friend’s individual profiles. I did this with the original sims but even they haven’t been updated in a while. I’ll also have to go in-game and see what traits the kids already have and clean that up a bit since I’m using a gradual trait system now instead of just giving them most of them when they age to a child.
Lastly, and I don’t know if I’ll get to this soon or not, I plan to start family trees for them all. I found a tutorial on how to make them in Gimp. And before you say this or that website does them, I want to make them myself and have them on the pages. I’m toying with the idea of going into the Afore save and grabbing pics for the trees of the deceased family as well. We’ll see.
Anyway! All of this is a lot of work and yes I could do it while I play but you have to understand that playing the way I do in Ash Shore takes a lot of focus. And, to be blunt, I’m a total mess post-divorce and the last few times I played them I had breakdowns over stupid things that would normally just annoy me. I’m not shelving it. It’s not going on the back burner so to speak. I’m just taking this time to get my head straight and do something fun that doesn’t take much focus. I did a sort of runaway thing in Sims 3 that I’m not writing about, I just made a Flickr album. I plan to write about the new one since I think I’ll actually go back to this one again after I’ve gotten bored of it: Gnome Crazy. Here’s the album for the runaway thing if you want to look. I couldn’t figure out how to make descriptions tho so it might be confusing…
