Ash Shore R1/T1/S1: Settling In

Rhythm 1/Turning 1/Season 1

Sophia, her now 3-year-old daughter Kyra, and Judy are starting out in Brindleton Bay.  Sophia had always needed someone to stay with her because of Kyra but Judy seemed an unlikely choice since she is a total slob and Judy is a neat freak.  But in the end, their love of animals prevailed.

Judy is our only actual green thumb in the group.  She was the one who was supposed to be doing all the gardening but since there are sims with no real purpose right now the seeds were split up.

While Judy plants everything, Sophia spends some time teaching Kyra flash cards.  Kyra actually has quite high communication skill from when they were all living in a group.

The main plan for these two is to have them befriend and train some strays for the others to adopt.  Also, Sophia will learn some veterinary skill so she can handle any sickness the pets have.  I thought it was odd there were no strays yet and saw this dog they’ve nicknamed Lulu sleeping nearby.

Even though she’s a cat lover Judy brings a bowl of food to Lulu and offers a cautious introduction.  (Did you know you can fill a pet bowl with no money?!)

Lulu wandered off, perhaps alerting the other animals it’s all good, because soon after they were inundated with cats and dogs!  Some weren’t even strays because we’d seen them at the park with their owners!

This dog was nicknamed Gemma Lou because how cute she is but then it was discovered she’s very aggressive.  Despite her cuteness, she doesn’t seem to be a good candidate to train for adoption.

I think maybe some of the animals just wanted a safe place to rest.

Or socialize with other animals in the case of owned pets like Butter here.  In the back you can see dog lover Sophia chatting with a pup nick-named Fish, he seems to be a hunter so perhaps he’s a good first dog to train?

As with all of the other households, they got hungry and made their way to the old camp which is now a park and central meeting area for all of Ash Shore.

Judy met Maxwell and they became friends.  Sims seem to be using this mischief interaction quite often of late.  I guess they need to get their fun where they can find it nowadays!

They returned back to the lot and while Sophia gets Kyra ready for bed Judy decides to have a nice jog on the beach.

Sophia received some extremely old veterinary equipment with some barely legible manuals for her to begin learning.  So after Kyra was asleep she started practicing.

The animals wouldn’t eat from the food bowl for some odd reason but they would eat from the plate of burgers.  But only that one, not the separated plates of individual burgers.  As they all slept animals wandered on and off the lot.

Time to see how Tanya and her grandmother Cecilia are faring.  They live in the land previously known as Oasis Springs.  Since Cecilia was a writer she was given the requested typewriter.

And Tanya, now 14 1/2, will be the collector of the group.

Grandma is not pleased with the bush potty.  If there was someone around to listen I’m sure she’d be telling them about how in her days they had indoor plumbing!

And then it was time to make their way to the park for the start of school.  Tanya was one of the first to arrive and sat trying to think of what she should write about today.

Erick chats with Cecilia while Christian looks over Drake’s work since he’s in charge of the more creative projects.

The teens of the class headed over to play some cards.  Good thinking skills from playing cards ya know!  And grandma roots on Tanya as they begin.

A new child we haven’t seen before, Quinton, shows up at the park and lingers nearby until the teachers invite him to join them.  He seemed extremely excited to be asked!

And then, after school was finished, they returned to their camp.  Tanya continued her search for collectibles.

And Cecilia returned to writing her book, A Children’s Guide to Turnings.  (Don’t ask me how they know about Turnings already, they just do!)

Tanya decided to be brave and chat with Saya when she saw her walking by.  Everyone needs at least one good friend right?  But Saya didn’t stay long.

Leaving her grandmother to her writing, Tanya headed over to the land previously known as Newcrest to search for more collectibles.

And then she made her way to the guy’s camp to tell Mack about all she had found.  He’d better get to figuring out how to turn those collectibles into something useful quick!

Tanya and Drew seem to have some sort of a connection.  They both constantly get whims to spend time with the other.  Just like it’s good for her to have a friend her age it’s nice for her to have a big brother type to look out for her.

Next, she made her way to the Larsen’s camp in the land formerly known as Willow Creek.  After grabbing any collectibles she found around their camp, and realizing she should have come here before she’d taken what she had to Mack, she gave Kenneth the frogs she’d saved since she thought perhaps he could use them as fishing bait.  (I later realized Dorothy is also fishing and since I haven’t played her yet she should have gotten them!)

Tanya stayed for a few minutes while Brock told her a joke but she was feeling self-conscious about her smelly state from all the running around and made her excuses to leave.

Then, she headed over for a quick shower.

And Cecilia completed her first children’s book and brought it to the Burtons thinking since they have the most children they will make the most use of it.

Sophia had this when Kyra had a potty accident.  I’d meant to have Judy show her that neat freaks like her can indeed mop puddles on grass but alas I have a faster evaporating puddles mod and by the time she returned from her jog it was gone.

And this is the real reason Tanya left without chatting to Brock longer.  He was in a terrible mood because of something his dad said… of course.  And when he told her the joke their relationship went down!

A/N: I think you might see better now why I said I have to keep track of the days myself for their aging since I have to merge them in and out of families quite often or in the case of the new kid at the park, switch to another household temporarily to invite them to the school club.
